Wesleyan University Assistant Director, Workday HCM and Finance in Middletown, Connecticut

Wesleyan University has an opening in Middletown, CT for an Assistant Director, Workday HCM and Finance.

Responsibiltiies include

  • Provide strategic technical leadership in collaboration with Finance, Human Resources, and the implementation teams to guide process development, change management and Human Capital Management (HCM) and financial reporting.

  • Work with IT and campus colleagues to prioritize and set expectations for both current production support and project work.

  • Lead the HCM and Finance Administration’s move to Workday and ongoing operations within the Workday ecosystem.

  • Lead project teams, assign action items to team members, follow up on project deadlines, and hold teams accountable.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and supervision, and manage expectations of direct report(s).

  • Collaboratively guide a combined team of HR, finance, IT, and outside partners to assess business and functional needs, review potential solutions, and collaboratively implement and test the best alternative.

  • Collaboratively drive change management with Wesleyan and outside implementation partners through documentation, sign-off, and training.

  • Use ServiceNow ticketing systems to maintain and streamline Incident and Change maintenance.

This position is 100% remote; may work from home.

Qualifications

  • Must possess at least a master’s or its equivalent in Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field and at least three years of experience as an HCM/Finance Enterprise Systems Lead or in a similar role.

  • In the alternative, at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field and at least five years of progressive experience as an HCM/Finance Enterprise Systems Lead or in a similar role would be acceptable.

  • Must also possess the following: at least 3 years of experience with Workday HCM;

  • at least 3 years of experience with Workday Finance

  • at least 3 years of experience with day-to-day support of financial system transactions

  • at least 3 years of experience with object oriented programing/relational databases and modern APIs; at least 3 years of experience with finance and human resources in the nonprofit or higher education industry.

  • Must have completed at least 1 large-scale conversion from PeopleSoft to Workday;

  • Must have completed an ERP certification, such as Workday or PeopleSoft.
