Job Title: Lead Carpenter

Job Description

With general direction from the project manager, the lead carpenter will be a working manager responsible for productively and timely leading multiple carpenters and subcontractors on job sites. The role includes understanding and controlling assigned projects, setting the pace of work, organizing daily tasks, inspecting the work of others, and resolving problems as needed. This position requires a solid understanding of multiple building trades, the ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints, and effective communication with both construction crew and office/management staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple carpenters and subcontractors on job sites using project documents.

  • Understand and control assigned projects, setting the pace of work.

  • Organize daily work for field staff and educate them as needed.

  • Inspect the work of others and correct problems as they arise.

  • Post daily logs and project documents for subcontractors.

  • Problem-solve daily issues and understand the scope of work for assigned projects.

  • Provide the appropriate tools and materials to workers assigned each day.

  • Communicate effectively with the construction crew and office/management staff.

  • Take on tasks like framing, finishing, and project management with confidence.

  • Collaborate with a talented team to ensure every project is completed to perfection.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and designs to bring projects to life.

  • Supervise and train crew members and other trades entering the project.

  • Ensure resources and manpower are adequate for each project on a daily/weekly basis.

  • Maintain all quality standards and safety precautions.

  • Resolve problems as they arise and report project status to the project manager/foreman.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00
