DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: The VP, Business Manager is responsible for the full PandL for an $85M optics manufacturing and assembly business comprising two sites in Connecticut and California. The position includes overseeing multiple business functions including business development, engineering, and site management. In addition, the corporate Finance, HR, and Quality functions provide partnership support for the Optics business segment. The VP, Business Segment is responsible developing and implementing the long-term strategy for the business segment, successfully growing revenue and profitability, and generally delivering improved business results year over year. This position reports to the ZYGO business unit manager and is a member of the senior leadership team, which is responsible for charting the overall strategic direction of the company and delivering the company's overall financial results. The position is based at Zygo HQ in CT but will consider onsite in CA.

The VP Business Manager is responsible to: * Develop and implement an annual 3-5-year strategic plan which consistently grows the business' revenue and profitability. * Manage the PandL, taking full ownership and accountability for making the numbers; meeting or exceeding revenue, profitability, and return-on-asset targets. * Direct the generation of new business opportunities via direct oversight of the Optics business development team and coordination with the VP of Sales and the regional sales team. * Aggressively go after key opportunities, leveraging the company's success, market position and brand by commercializing new market opportunities and developing new product applications. * Manage the highest-level relationships with key customers and market influencers. * Maintain visibility into the operational and financial performance of the segment * Maintain a strong working capital position. * Accurately forecast and predict business results and meet the operating plan commitments to the greater organization. * Improve staff performance by developing a plan for mentoring, training, and upgrading talent where necessary, identifying and rewarding high potentials within the organization, and overseeing a meaningful annual review process. * Drive continuous improvement and quality throughout all facets of the business

Compensation Salary Minimum: $200,000 + Salary Maximum: $200,000 +
