Job Title: Test EngineerJob Description

Our client, founded in Michigan City, Indiana, has expanded internationally to serve customers around the globe. With offices in Chicago and facilities in the United States and China, they have been at the forefront of compressed air solutions for over 50 years. They were pioneers in executing rotary screw technology in air compressors and made history by collaborating with Dow Chemical to produce one of the industry’s longest-lasting compressor fluids. Now part of a larger compressor portfolio, our client continues to innovate and lead in the industry. The Test Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, validating, and verifying all products within their test cells. This role includes overseeing 8 stationary cells and 1 portable cell, determining the pass/fail status of product tests, applying final finishes, and shipping to customers if tests pass. If tests fail, the Test Engineer will collaborate with engineers and technicians to diagnose and resolve issues. The goals for this role include ensuring accurate specifications, compliance with client requirements, and reducing first-pass yield, first articles, and customer escapes. The role involves conducting 10-15 tests a day, with most tests lasting 30-60 minutes and some lasting 2-4 hours.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Michigan City, Indiana.

Work Environment

The Test Engineer will work across two buildings, with machining and offices in separate buildings. They will have their own cubicle in building 1 and oversee both buildings. The offices are currently being updated and renovated. The team consists of 9 technicians, 4 engineers, 1 QMS coordinator, and 1 calibrator.
