Job Description
This company is the trusted leader in manufacturing innovative instrumentation solutions for the worldwide HVAC and Process Automation markets. With over 650 technical patents and a growing number each year, we are a dedicated group headquartered in Michigan City, Indiana, with satellite locations around the globe. We are currently seeking an Automation Technician to be responsible for automated equipment within our manufacturing lines. The facility is not heavily automated, and the equipment includes Epson Robots, Automation Direct/Rockwell PLCs, as well as some hydraulics and pneumatics.
Responsibilities
Assist with line implementation efforts
Own the troubleshooting of automated issues occurring within manufacturing
Have a foundational understanding of the company's manufacturing process and the automation involved
Perform troubleshooting on Bar Code vision systems
Ensure the operators understand how the automated equipment works prior to using
Work cross functionally with maintenance, the operators, and Automation Engineers
Ability to perfect the manufacturing/product process
Essential Skills
Technical associates degree related to engineering (EET, MET, Automation, Advanced Manufacturing, etc.) preferred but not required
3+ years of experience working with automated manufacturing equipment
Ability to make minor edits/modifications within a PLC program as well as a robot program
Vision Systems experience (bar code readers)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with Automation Direct PLCs
Direct experience with Epson Robots
Work Environment
You will be based out of Michigan City, IN, assisting in line implementation. Shifts will be one 1st and one 2nd shift (7pm-7am) Sunday-Wednesday OR Monday-Thursday, 12-hour shifts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
