About the role:

ConvaTec is launching an ambitious Smart Factory initiative to modernize manufacturing facilities and processes. The Smart Factory Programme Manager is responsible to build each manufacturing site MES implementation plan and lead the initiative to deliver the technology roadmap to achieve a high-level of industry 4.0 maturity. Serves as a single point of contact between the Global Digital/IT team and Operations/Engineering team identifying gaps and creating effective execution plan for the Manufacturing Execution System.

Experienced MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Project Manager to lead the implementation of MES projects at our Michalovce Plant. The MES PM will be responsible for managing the project end-to-end, including planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery. Strong background in manufacturing processes, MES implementations, project management, and on-site leadership. Ensuring allocation of resources and budgets, including but not limited to the definition or project scope, programming and estimation of cost, supervision, of projects and management of contracts.

Your key duties and responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including scope, objectives, timelines, resources, budget, and deliverables.

• Define project milestones, work breakdown structures, and task assignments.

• Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with plant operational goals and project objectives.

• Lead the end-to-end implementation of MES projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.

• Oversee the day-to-day management of project tasks, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.

• Collaborate with internal teams, third-party vendors, and consultants to ensure successful project execution.

• Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related activities on-site and global teams (IT, Validation), External - MES application development team.

• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, providing clear and timely updates.

• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and reviews to drive project progress and resolve issues.

• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.

• Proactively address project challenges to minimize impact on timelines and deliverables.

• Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

• Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify the alignment of project outcomes with defined specifications.

• Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, ensuring effective performance and professional development.

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, risk logs, change requests, and post-implementation reviews.

• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to senior management and project sponsors.

• Provide weekly/monthly reporting and disseminate key outputs to the wider teams.

Key Requirements:

• A strong programme management background with experience of the Software Delivery cycle and leading agile delivery teams.

• Experience in successfully delivering medium to large-scale transformation programmes /projects across both software delivery and business change, ideally in a Manufacturing and regulated environment.

• Manufacturing Process mapping experience and demonstrated skills.

• Demonstrating a high resilience to appropriately handle conflicting priorities.

• Demonstrates sound communication skills to be able to modify the beliefs and opinions of other peers in the business unit. An effective communicator, with the ability to cut through the noise and articulate the problem/challenge to all levels of stakeholders.

• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence and drive change.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project issues.

• The ability to empower the team to take responsibility for their deliverables whilst clearly articulating the plan to release value to the customer.

• A “can do” attitude that drives and galvanizes the team to achieve the required goals of Smart Factory (MES).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Soft skills and competencies as relevant.

• Ability to work on-site at the plant and travel as required.

Education / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; PMP or similar certification preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on MES or Software implementation in a manufacturing environment.

• Proven experience in managing large-scale MES/ Software projects with successful on-time, on-budget delivery.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, MES systems, and industrial automation.

• Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA) and MES platforms.

Travel Requirements

Position may involve travel up to 25% of the time, mostly within Europe but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel.
