About the role:

Senior Engineer – Research and Development is a member of global T&I team holding the responsibility for Process and Product development and project management located at Convatec Michalovce operations. He is an experienced professional with substantial knowledge about the Continence Care and / or Ostomy Care products.

Your key duties and responsibilities as a Senior Engineer – Research and Development:

• Design and development of new processes, systems and process components including prototypes.

• Continuous Improvement of New Product / Process Development processes, systems, and process components.

• Development of process specifications for new products and improved processes/products, ensuring the accurate completion of the required documentation to ensure transition of processes and design from T&I to manufacturing.

• Design and development of new products / materials or improvement of existing products / materials in accordance with customer requests and in compliance with actual regulatory requirements following valid SOPs (e.g., Design inputs, Design output, Material/Product specifications, Product drawings, Product Verification and Validation, Test method development, shelf life, biocompatibility, design transfer, design review).

• Project leading to introduce new products or processes.

• Lead the broaden team members with focus on project targets.

• Continuously improve processes conducted in T&I.

• Creates, reviews, and approves T&I documents related to design control.

• Solving issue related to design or process and overcome obstacles on project roads.

• Providing a expertise in design / process development areas and training others for best working practices.

• Deputy of T&I Manager for design/change control matters.

• Supports in T&I related decision making for CAPA’s, Design Control, Change Control, and other processes in T&I competence.

• Can understand and apply what standards are applicable for a CC and / or OC product or product family.

• Can use, understand, and apply statistical techniques; has advanced statistical knowledge and can apply statistics in data sampling and data processing.

• Can work in SolidWorks or another 3D CAD software (advantage).

• Can work in AutoCAD or another 2D CAD software (advantage).

• To ensure compliance with the legislative and internal requirements of the EHS and to participate in the fulfillment of the company's targets in the EHS area.

About you:

• Experience within product / process development and regulatory demands for medical devices and project management. Experience with team leading will be advantageous.

• Creates and approves design output documents and perform design validation and verification and complete any relevant documents.

• Creates and approves process documents.

• Assigns tasks and leads team members to successfully execute project activities.

• Creates and approves justifications and writes memorandums to support decision-making processes of stakeholders.

• Prototyping, design and creation of product prototypes, their testing and evaluation.

• Participates and support CAPA process, creates NC’s and completes assigned actions.

• Review and approval of EDMS documents applicable to R&D.

Education / Qualifications:

• University, technical degree preferred. Educated in internal design control, change control and another applicable SOP’s and WI’s

• Communicative level of English language
