POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for performing any of the functions required in the production of the Citys water supply. This includes

all functions required to get the water from water wells, treatment of the water and to the City distribution

system. Provides support and assistance to all utility departments.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Perform, log and graph results of various regular chemical testings of water samples according to

designated schedule (depending upon test performed) according to standard departmental procedures,

reporting any unusual circumstances observed to supervisor.

Make adjustments as needed based on results of tests (as described in A.1 above), according to standard

operating procedure.

Observe necessary gauges and valves controlling water level in the Citys water towers, water pressure,

logging all observation readings and recording any adjustments made in order to maintain proper level of

water in water tanks and towers.

Receive and maintain storage of all supplies and equipment received by the Utility Department, notifying

the departments warehouse manager of short or inaccurate shipments.

Check out and maintain appropriate records of all items requisitioned or sold, processing all paperwork

according to established departmental procedures.

Act as dispatcher for entire Utility Department during the hours when the main office is closed, receiving

and logging calls received, notifying necessary personnel as directed and documenting all action taken

according to departmental procedures.

Use SCADA system for record keeping. Maintain programs and perform maintenance of equipment and

materials as needed.

Clean assigned areas.

Maintain watch on the plant for operation & security purposes throughout the shift.

Education: High School diploma or GED

Experience: No prior experience necessary

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills

Certificates & Licenses: Maintain current and valid Class B Driver License (must obtain CDL within one year of

hire date.

Driving record acceptable with insurance carrier.

WATER D, 16 Hours DEQ Training within initial probationary year.

WASTEWATER D, 16 Hours DEQ Training within initial probationary year.

Forklift certification

Other Requirements: Trained in the proper use and wearing of SCBA and respirators for required situations.
