Position Summary
The successful Quality Assurance Technician performs regular checks in and around the facility to assure product quality meets or exceeds customer satisfaction. Ensures all rules, regulations, guidelines, and processes for packing fresh food are being performed correctly.
Essential Job Functions
This position is responsible for all of the following:
- Conduct and document daily pre-inspections of facility
- Conduct and document daily scale accuracy checks
- Monitor and record metal detector checks every hour
- Conducts product specifications checks, and notifies supervisors and/or managers of out-of-spec product
- Conduct and document all QA and HACCP checks as directed
- Ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary, and that CCPs are being monitored
- Monitor employees to ensure compliance with GMPs
- Issue employee Non-Compliance documents to employees who are in violation of any rules and/or regulations
- Participate in Food Safety Audits,
- Conduct routine environmental sampling as directed
- Understand corrective actions
- Performs other related duties as requested
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on the safe handling and proper use of machines and tools used for the operations
- Adherence to Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) for food processing
- Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for food processing
- Accurate completion of daily logs and reports according to the SOP
