ABOUT THE ROLE

The VP Performance Management leads and is accountable for the strategy and execution of the region performance in pursuit of sustainable, market share, winning top and bottom-line P&L growth. The leader cultivates a high performance, highly motivated culture that is grounded in Diageo’s Leadership Standard. They will be required to strengthen SGWS/CPWS distributor relationships through transparency, collaboration, and accountability.

Key Functional Outputs:

  • Leads/executes Region multi-year RTM transformation strategy needed to win

  • Leads all “in-year” financial/depletion/O&R/share/execution management processes across Categories

  • Delivery of annual dNSV, NSV, dGP, dGM, trade spend, and pricing/price-mix targets

  • Delivers Market Share growth with an embedded end-to-end planning process

  • Delivers Execution strategy and performance management (PODs, Menus, Displays, Shelf)

  • Leads people development and bringing our Purpose/Leadership Standard to life

  • Acts as most senior US Spirits leader within the Miami office/FL team

  • Shape the Future: Can develop a multi-year commercial/RTM vision and operationalize down to “in-year” periods with stakeholders in an inspirational way. Has demonstrated this before.

Is a simplifier without losing the context and impact. Understands the roles of finance, RGM, strategic accounts, on-premise, activation, customer/brand marketing, and distributor partners as the critical enabler. Can influence with different styles. Financial Responsibility:

  • Responsible for:

  • $900M dNSV/NSV

  • $100M trade spend budget

Decision Making:

  • Decides on RTM strategy, sales agenda, and all performance outlook submission

  • Decides on adequate resource allocation among region and portfolio/categories

  • Oversees (w RGM/Finance) operating budget and pricing plans within region

  • Owns distributor performance through standardized, rigorous performance routines

  • Leads distributor training needs, succession plans, and coaching and mentoring staff.

ABOUT YOU

Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required and MBA preferred

  • Must have 10+ years of market development and selling experience

  • Significant years at senior level with proven successes in achieving sales targets

  • Experiencing delivering a market level commercial strategy over short and long-term

  • Deep understanding of Nielsen share and chain market dynamics

  • Proven track record of managing and developing a high-performance sales team

  • Must have thorough knowledge of financial management (planning and analysis)

  • Must have advanced RGM skills across end-to-end pricing analysis and effectiveness.

  • Must understand and apply data analysis to drive effective portfolio strategies

  • Experienced in organizational skill development and application.

  • Understands supplier/distributor dynamics and product supply chain

  • Must be able to simplify complex problems and operationalize solutions

  • Must be performance and process oriented and understand internal interdependencies

Additional Skills:

  • Persuasive selling, negotiation, & problem solving

  • Is an advocate for RGM strategy with deep P&L and value chain understanding

  • Ability to easily flex styles to manage results thru diverse group of stakeholders

  • Understands and has demonstrated experience with Strategic Accounts customers

  • Understands and has demonstrated experience with syndicated share data
