The University of Miami/UHealth Center of Wellness and Recreation has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Supervisor and memberships to work in Miami, FL. The Supervisor, Memberships will oversee the membership operation and will train customer service representatives. They will make improvements to current processes and procedures to increase efficiency and better serve our members. They will ensure that excellent customer service is always provided to members and visitors.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervises membership daily functions and activities, including sales, customer service, and operations.
Processes new memberships, renewals, cancellations, and program enrollments, as well as sales of day passes, locker rentals, classes, fitness assessments, personal training packages, and pro-shop items.
Converts prospects to active members by answering questions, following up after tours, and demonstrating value of membership.
Familiarizes oneself with club management software (Fusion) and trains staff in proper data entry, sales, and lookup procedures.
Reconciles daily sales reports and ensures that staff are handling payments properly.
Works with accounting staff to deposit payments, set up recurring charges and payroll deductions, and resolve billing questions.
Solves complex and unusual problems and communicates solution or requested information to the customer. Presents unresolved situations to leadership for further review.
Refers concerns to other service areas/departments, such as fitness and wellness staff, parking office and Gables Wellness Center.
Reviews membership processes and procedures and recommends improvements as needed.
Coordinates short-term and ongoing membership promotions. Tracks special rates and discounts and applies accordingly.
Attends internal and external events such as benefits and wellness fairs in order to market the facility and increase sales.
Conducts membership data audits and produces reports on membership metrics.
Supports front desk or fitness floor operations when front-line staff are not available or need assistance.
Other job-related duties and projects as assigned.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
