We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to oversee several major million-dollar water, wastewater, and conveyance construction projects in the Miami, South Florida area.

The Senior Construction Manager (SCM) is responsible for leading the delivery processes, tools, and execution of construction projects within the program. This role will align to support construction activities as requested to meet the overall delivery needs of the program

Some key responsibilities include the following:

  • Support program in establishing and implementing a safety culture to engage with ongoing field operations to meet the needs of the delivery teams.

  • Support the program controls team to establish schedule control, cost control, change management, risk management and reporting tools.

  • Act as the primary project interface with the designer, contractor, plant operations, and ongoing construction contracts.

  • Provide motivation and leadership to the construction team through site mobilization, execution, and demobilization activities, consistent with established project delivery processes to ensure the orderly, efficient, and timely completion of the project scope.

  • Lead project meetings with contractor and stakeholders effectively delivering results in a timely manner.

  • Actively evaluate, manage, and report on the status of the construction schedule and budget. Monitor the contract progress and make recommendation to client for contractor payments.

  • Work to build a cooperative partnership between the client, contractor, and all stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project.

  • Lead the Jacobs CM Team in monitoring construction contractor operations for process conformance with the approved quality control plan, schedules, proactive change management, pay requests, contract closeout, and record drawings in accordance with construction documents.

  • Demonstrate effective risk management and mitigation practices through proper risk identification, assessment, tracking and communication.

  • Ensure completion of the scope of work to the satisfaction of our client, while simultaneously ensuring that Jacob’s safety, environmental, and project performance expectations are upheld. Including leading the construction team in establishing a site-wide safe working culture.

  • Work with the Engineers, owner, and Contractor to establish and implement start‐up and commissioning plans and associated resources as requested.

  • Manage the analysis of claims and change orders and to make recommendation to the client regarding merit and quantum.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelors or 4 Year Degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.

  • 15 plus years of progressively challenging leadership experience on major W/WW construction projects, preferably Treatment Plant Projects

  • A Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing construction projects as Construction Manager on a project of $150M+.

  • Must be proficient in the use of computer to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel. Excellent knowledge of construction scheduling (P6)

  • Must be proficient with web-based construction document management platforms

  • Must have highly effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent team leader and team player with exceptional interpersonal skills

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • PE and/or CCM

  • Experience with electrical distribution projects
