Move Coordinator

The University of Miami/UHealth has a exciting opportunity for a Full Time Move Coordinator to work at UHealth Medical Campus.

Core Job Summary

The Moving Coordinator plans and coordinates moving activities by scheduling skilled trades and transportation as needed. Attends meetings, provides estimates, resolves issues, and communicates with customers. The Move Coordinator operates with the goal of ensuring that all work is completed as requested and all facility equipment is always in good working order.

Core Responsibilities

  • Directs and coordinates trucking and moving operations to include planning and scheduling of moves.

  • Assist with all forms of logistic on the loading dock.

  • Plans specific work assignments, assuring that all facets of the assignments are provided for including work schedules, materials, equipment availability, and manpower requirements, so that assignments may be completed in the most efficient, economical, and timely manner.

  • Trains and instructs employees in their duties and responsibilities to develop their maximum effectiveness and potential.

  • Develops and maintains a well-disciplined and well-adjusted work force of capable, motivated employees and initials corrective disciplinary actions as necessary in the development and maintenance of such work force.

  • Assures that personnel are supplied with necessary tools, equipment, and materials.

  • Prepares, keeps, and/or maintains records, reports, recommendations, evaluation, etc, reflecting the conditions under which the services provided by the section are being accomplished and/or the efficiency and economy of such operations.

  • Supervises work in progress and inspect completed assignments to ensure satisfactory progress, work quality, operating procedures and practices, efficiency, safety, and standards are being maintained.

  • Manage all moving jobs on Medical and satellite locations.

  • Supervise a team of 4 to 6 individuals.

  • Prioritize and delegate assignments.

  • Plan, coordinate and provide management oversight for highly sensitive and critical emergencies.

  • Attend move coordination meetings and site visits.

  • Provide estimates for jobs and departments requiring annual budget spending.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Must comply with and enforce the policies and procedures of the University of Miami and the policies and procedures of the Facility Administration and Support Department.

  • Demonstrates skills in understanding and complying with verbal and written communications in English.

  • Must work in a team environment as directed by the management of the Facility Administration to provide a customer-oriented service group to meet the changing needs of the University environment.

  • Proven skills in customer relations, supervision, evaluation techniques, and training personnel. Proven emphasis on teamwork, cooperation, customer relations and leadership in problem solving.

    Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
