Southern Glazer's offers a competitive package with annual compensation of $85,000-$115,000 plus incentives. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

Shapes and drives environmental sustainability efforts at SGWS, while also ensuring operations aligns with and contributes to corporate sustainability goals. Supports the functional head of corporate sustainability, oversees collection and management of key data on environmental sustainability impacts across the enterprise, leads related analytics, supports interdisciplinary teams in the delivery of environmental sustainability goals across SGWS fleets, facilities, and employees, and selectively represents the Company externally with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Help educate, build capacity/capability, and lead implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives with key business functions across geographies (with an emphasis on Fleet and Facilities), that drive progress against KPIs

  • Lead the internal collection, management, and reporting of relevant environmental sustainability data including energy/climate, waste, and water etc. across the enterprise

  • Analyze data, collaborate with selected vendors, and make recommendations to enhance SGWS performance, inform environmental sustainability strategy, and related company initiatives

  • Prepare sustainability reports, materials, visualizations, scenarios & glidepaths, presentations and proposals

  • Manage external reporting to sustainability/ESG raters & rankers, standards & frameworks, as well as customers and suppliers

  • Support the implementation of foundational environmental sustainability efforts as needed including climate and nature risk and updated GHG inventory development

  • Assist with the development, review, and delivery of environmental sustainability related policies, procedures, and trainings

  • Manage and liaise with external vendors in the areas of sustainability data platform support, life cycle assessment, etc.

  • Communicate and represent SGWS environmental sustainability strategy and progress as needed to external stakeholders, including at public speaking events

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience

  • Experience working with an extensive national (or beyond) Scope 1 & 2 GHG inventory (and ideally Scope 3).

  • Experience driving advancement against goals in the areas of climate/energy, water and waste, and ideally on packaging circularity

  • Strong technical and data manipulation capability; advanced analytical skills; experience with Tableau preferred

  • Familiarity with ESG rating agencies and data vendors (e.g. Bloomberg, Sustainalytics, MSCI, ISS) and ESG and sustainability standards and frameworks (e.g. CDP, GRI, SASB, TCFD)

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 50lbs
