Joint Activities Management and Program Analyst in Miami, Florida

Summary About the Position: Join us at the United States Southern Command. We provide direct support to a four-star Unified Combatant Commander, but are compact enough that our staff also works with senior leadership representatives of our inter-service, inter-agency and (public and private) international partner organizations. Our contribution to furthering our country's relationships with Caribbean, South and Central American nations and peoples are substantial. Responsibilities Serve as Joint Targeting and Fires Specialist in the USSOUTHCOM Directorate of Operations (SCJ3), Defeat Threats Division (SCJ32), Joint Fires Element (JFE). Integrate Intermediate Military Objective (IMOs) related to objectives of countering organization's area of responsibility primary threats of drug trafficking (CD), illicit threat networks (CTN), and external state actors (ESA) with the J32 Division. Manage analyst and component workforce to ensure the targeting enterprise is accomplishing mission IAW SOUTHCOM Commander’s guidance. Participate in working groups, boards, and planning teams to develop courses of action of Targeting- and/or Fires-related planning considerations and issues. Prepare and brief on key products including mission analysis, course of action development, decision briefs, PLANORDs, and other approved products supporting future operations. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes facilitating military decision-making processes to develop feasible courses of action to identify threat networks; orchestrating the coordination of operational execution of actions focused against priority threat networks and associated targets; developing Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), Battle Rhythm, Scheduling, Standardization of Briefing Products, Summary Messages, Fragmentary Orders, Staff Papers and providing subject matter expertise of Joint Fire Support (JP 3-09), and Joint Targeting (JP 3-60) during the planning and execution of military operations during crisis and steady state operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes Information Operations Support Organizational Awareness Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
