Starboard Cruise Services HR Generalist in Miami, Florida

The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of People team priorities that cultivate a high-performance culture and people-focused employee experience.

This role will support our talent strategies and drive business results through coaching, performance management, talent management, employee relations and data insights.

Reporting to the HR Manager, the generalist will assist in the implementation and execution of programs that aim to attract, develop, and manage the organization’s talent pool, while continuously evaluating the effectiveness of the organization’s talent processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Support:

  • Facilitate implementation and execution of key HR programs and processes with client groups, including but not limited to on-boarding, organizational effectiveness, performance management, engagement, retention, and compensation

  • Assist in resolving employee relations issues and partners with HRBPs, business leaders and legal counsel to investigate, coach, advise and report when necessary

  • Act as initial point of contact for employee groups and helps to assess needs, guide requests, manage special projects, and drive action planning when needed

  • Support the People team in ensuring the right talent (quantity and quality) are in the right roles at the right time to drive and deliver business results

  • Collaborate and coordinate with specialized HR functions (e.g., talent acquisition, scheduling, learning and development, etc.) to maximize impact of HR initiatives

Talent Management and Development:

  • Consult internally to support assessment and evaluation of talent, analyze needs, and assist with action planning; support execution of resulting action plans to continuously develop internal talent bench

  • Facilitate creation, maintenance, and reporting of succession plan data, including insights and gap analysis

  • Drive succession pipeline/plan implementation, update data, and measure progression to support internal mobility

Culture and Engagement:

  • Suggest, implement, and drive people-focused culture and engagement experiences to continuously embed North Star culture across the organization, boost engagement, and promote DE&I priorities

  • Support development and maintenance of internal programs focused on workforce retention and engagement

  • Assist with recognition program/process coordination, including but not limited to roll-out, submission, selection, and awards

  • Participate in internal resource groups, committees, and councils; support execution of related activations, events, and initiatives

Data Metrics:

  • Collect, analyze, research, track trends, and prepare reports on employee data in partnership with HRIS analyst to measure effectiveness of talent strategies

  • Review, interpret, and recommend process or program improvements, based on analytics and data insights

  • Assist L&D team with onboarding and training completion data and recaps

  • Identify metrics and recommend action plans to support the accomplishment of those efforts

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • 4- 6 Years of Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

  • Fluency in English

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong business acumen and familiarity with general HR cycles and processes

  • Ability to effectively advise, coach, and guide teams at various levels of the organization

  • Exceptional, proven communication skills, including listening, written, verbal and non-verbal

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on relationship-building

  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Demands:

Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
