Description

Position Summary:

The person in this position will be responsible for cleaning offices, and lavatories/bathrooms according to a housekeeping schedule.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout assigned property.

  • Uses cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies.

  • Cleans and disinfects bathrooms.

  • Cleans and disinfects dining areas and break room

  • Cleans and disinfects office spaces

  • Cleans and disinfects common areas

  • Wipes and dusts surfaces in rooms and cleans mirrors.

  • Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes.

  • Stocks appropriate supplies in bathrooms.

  • Picks up and empties trash containers.

  • Notifies maintenance if something is not working properly.

  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

  • Inventory stock to ensure that supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts.

  • Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using appropriate cleaning supplies, sponges, or squeegees

  • Participate in meetings and attend trainings as required and requested

  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation

  • Completes all orientation and mandated training activities, including E-Learning Courses, within required timeframes, and in accordance with the criteria established for this position.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Certifications/Licensures:

  • None

    Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

    Experience and Competencies:

  • Must have knowledge of housekeeping procedures.

  • Must be dependable and have ability to follow directions.

  • If recovering from an addiction treatment program, must have at least two (2) years recovery.

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services

  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations for the protection of people, data, and property

  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.

  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules

  • Ability to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.

    Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office or residential treatment setting; and some outdoor activities may be required.

  • Personal Protective Equipment

  • Gloves are worn when cleaning.

  • Gloves are worn when using housekeeping and floor care products

  • Eye goggles are worn when pouring housekeeping and floor product

  • Gloves, mask, gown, eye goggles are used as required for the situation

  • Appropriate PPE will be worn as required by situation

    Essential Physical and Mental Demands of the Job

    The employee must be able to perform the following essential duties and activities with or without accommodation:

  • Must be able to bend and stoop.

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.

  • The employee frequently is required to walk.

  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and to talk or hear.

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Physical Demands:

  • Requires mobility and physical activity: Having an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in an office, residential, or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), sitting for extended periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. Use of computer and telephone systems is required which includes coordination of eye and hand, and fine manipulation by the hands (typing, writing, and working with files). Requires the ability to defend oneself and clients in physically abusive situations through the use of approved physical de-escalation techniques.

  • Requires talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Talking is required to impart oral information to employees, clients, patients, and the public, and in those activities in which the employee is required to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.

  • Requires hearing: Hearing is required to receive and communicate detailed information through oral communication.

  • Requires seeing: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at distance. This factor is required to complete paperwork for many of the employee’s essential job functions and to observe client behavior and activities in and out of the facility.

  • The normal work routine involves no exposure to human blood, body fluids or tissues. However, exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee.
