Aerotek Diesel Technician Class B in Miami, Florida

Description:

Privately-owned, locally-operated solid waste disposal and recycling company. We are experiencing explosive growth and with growth comes opportunity. We are currently adding Diesel Technicians to our team to support the growth.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to work under limited supervision and establish procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.

• Perform repairs, inspections, and diagnosis.

• Repair electrical, hydraulic, transmissions, suspension and air brake systems on vehicles and heavy equipment.

• Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to determine failure modes.

• Complete required documentation associated with repairing vehicles and parts usage.

• Perform welding, hard facing and fabricating using steel and aluminum welding equipment.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with OSHA Standards and company policies.

• Develop fellow technicians’ performance by training when assigned.

Must have a minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience performing vehicle maintenance; a heavy duty vehicle maintenance certificate obtained from an accredited maintenance vocation/trade school

computer skills including email, maintenance programs, and diagnostics systems

Thorough knowledge of late model gas and diesel engines and on-board computers

Experience using oxygen/acetylene equipment (cutting, heating, bending, fabricating equipment during repair)

Experience using lifting devices (bottle, floor, wheel, or transmission jacks, floor cranes, etc)

Experience using precision measurement instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, electronic multimeters/testers, A/C charging station, etc)

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

ASE Certification

Diesel experience

Brake Inspection Certification Eligible

1st shift : 2:30 am - 10:30 am (sometimes up to 12 pm)

2nd shift 3:00 pm - 12:00 am
