University of Miami Cardiovascular Technologist - Cath Lab - Full Time in Miami, Florida

The Cardiovascular Technologist uses electrocardiography (ECG), holter monitoring, cardiac ultrasound, echocardiography, exercise stress testing, and pacemaker evaluation to observe, monitor, and evaluate the cardiac function of patients.
Monitors patients' blood pressure and heart rate using electrocardiogram (EKG) equipment, during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Prepares reports of diagnostic procedures for interpretation by physicians.
Conducts cardiovascular tests to record patients' cardiac activity, using specialized electronic test equipment, recording devices, and laboratory instruments.
Obtains and records patients’ identification, medical history, and test results.
Maintains cardiology equipment, making minor repairs to ensure proper operation.
Assists physicians in diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular treatments.
Observes and records vascular information, such as blood pressure, limb volume changes, oxygen saturation, and cerebral circulation.
Assesses cardiac physiology and calculates valve areas from blood flow velocity measurements. Explains procedures to patients and carries out procedures under the direction of a physician.
Observes heart activity and evaluates test results for abnormal patterns.
Makes preliminary analysis and interpretation of test results for physicians’ study and diagnosis.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
Associate degree in relevant field
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
