We are seeking a dedicated Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in the Insurance industry, located in Miami, Florida. This role will primarily involve handling legal work on assigned cases, with a focus on Insurance Defense and Litigation - Defense. The successful candidate will be expected to aggressively pursue files referred to by the Claims Department and maintain a comprehensive strategy for each case, including the development and organization of document files.

Responsibilities:

• Handle legal work on assigned cases in a timely and efficient manner

• Pursue files referred to by the Claims Department diligently and assertively

• Create and maintain a documented strategy for case handling in each assigned case, taking into account all relevant factors

• Develop, organize, and maintain document files consisting of pleadings, briefs, and memorandums

• Prepare and submit status reports to claims handlers on all significant activities as they occur

• Effectively manage a caseload with a focus on Insurance Defense or Litigation and Defense

• Maintain all necessary licensing and continuing education requirements

• Handle cases at Dade County Courts professionally and efficiently

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient case management and resolution

• Stay updated on the latest legal trends and legislation to enhance the quality of legal services provided

This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Must be admitted and in good standing with the Florida State Bar.

• Proven experience as a lawyer in financial services, preferably with a focus on insurance defense and litigation.

• Demonstrable proficiency in legal research, analysis, negotiation, and problem-solving.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal principles clearly and effectively.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

• High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.

• Proficient understanding of financial regulations and laws.

• Proven background in developing case strategies and assessing legal implications.

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Strong client relationship management skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.

This will be a hybrid schedule, 2 days in office.
