Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA) distributes a wide range of medical and surgical devices used to diagnose and treat diseases. OCA needs to educate health care providers on the safe and effective, on label use of those products through Professional Education courses, workshops and training events. This position is a regional, LAD position and is responsible for using clinical expertise to develop and deliver education related to the safe and effective use of Olympus products. This position is responsible for using product knowledge and clinical expertise to support the safe and effective use of Olympus products during Olympus professional educational courses and deliver product training at different hands-on stations at workshops.

  • Provide educational support on the safe and effective use of Olympus products for all Prof Ed programs generally with a focus on smaller, less complex programs.

  • Work collaboratively with Prof Ed Curriculum Development Managers and Coordinators in LAD on the delivery of educational programs.

  • Perform review of all educational materials following internal review process and ensure all product usage falls within instructions of use, confirm clinical material, and submit for approval.

  • Support and enhance the quality of educational components of Professional Education courses based on collaboration with marketing, Coordinators, Curriculum Development, and Program Managers.

  • Determine accuracy and completeness of Olympus products, models, and non-inventory items required for Professional Education courses. Order and ensure the timely delivery of these resources to support effective learning experiences.

  • Coordinate Lab session layout, timing, and rotations.

  • Support execution of on-site educational courses.

  • Provide clinical and product expertise about Olympus products in accordance with product labelling and instructions for use and ensure all discussions are in line with the product’s intended use and remain on label.

  • Manage inventory, set-up, and breakdown of equipment at professional education courses.

  • Provide feedback of the event to identify areas to target for improvement through discussions with faculty, registered attendees, and other Olympus colleagues.

  • Deliver Olympus CDS, clinical nurse and tech trainings, both virtually and in-person.

Requerimientos del puesto

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field, MD., Biomed Engineer or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in equivalent role at a medical device company or experience working directly with medical devices in a clinical setting, is required.

  • With an MD, Biomed Engineer or related area degree, 2 years of educational or clinical experience in a relevant Olympus field is required

  • With an Associate’s degree, 3 years of educational or clinical experience in a relevant Olympus field is required.

  • Without an MD, Biomed Engineer or Associate’s degree, 4 years of educational or clinical experience in a relevant Olympus field is required

  • Available to travel up to 75% of work time. Most travel is within the LATAM(Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina) Central America, mainly international travel may be required.

  • Ability to travel via airplane is required.

  • Ability to operate a vehicle is required. Important activities within Mexico City will require to operate vehicle to visit Hospitals, training sites and courses delivery.

  • Comfortable working in a training environment in which human cadavers, live animals, animal tissue and other synthetic tissues are being used in a humane way to support training need

  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish with good verbal and written skills in both languages.

Nice to have:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Professional certification in a related field is preferred.

  • Ability to read, understand., and apply technical product information.

  • Technical expertise to identify and troubleshoot technical product issues.

  • Successful track record of managing and balancing multiple assignments with overlapping timelines in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

  • Clinical expertise with medical device and procedural knowledge
