The role:
Our Latin America business unit brings our platforms and products to México, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and other strategic parts of Latin America. As a Senior Product Manager, you will own, define, execute, and deliver a product roadmap for this unit. You will also help shape our investments as we modernize our current infrastructure, drive innovation in Latin America, and develop new products and services.
To be successful, you’ll need to bridge technical and business worlds, engaging with matrixed teams including engineering, design, sales, operations, finance, legal, risk, compliance, and other product managers. You'll define and prioritize features, and drive internal stakeholder and external partner engagements necessary for the on-time launch of each product.
This is a high visibility role and you will often interact with C-level executives inside and outside Galileo. You will be expected to independently drive discussions and decisions with leaders from product, engineering, the Latin America business unit, and operations.
What you’ll do:
Build a strategy to drive Latin America growth and own a multi-year product roadmap to deliver on that growth.
Understand complex business and operational requirements and break them down into epics and user stories for engineering teams.
Prioritize and drive product backlogs with your dedicated and dependent engineering teams.
Ensure appropriate data is collected and analytics tools are instrumented for all products in your portfolio to drive deep understanding, innovation, and effective product plans.
Challenge the status quo and have a deep understanding of the problem first before recommending solutions.
Collaborate with product and engineering leaders across business units to drive synergies across common client use cases and requirements.
Work with internal project stakeholders from marketing, sales, operations, community, and executive management to translate customer needs into meaningful products.
Build business cases in support of new ideas and get cross-functional support for your proposals.
Lead in a fast-paced, agile, multi-country, dynamic environment.
Be a Subject Matter Expert and, research to find the best outcome.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years in product management with a domain knowledge of financial and payment services.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Demonstrated experience in financial services product development.
Knowledge of card processing technologies and association certification processes.
Strong preference for México payment systems experience.
Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners.
Experience managing complex product development cycles and highly technical solutions.
Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on deadlines.
Experience presenting to C-level leadership (internal and external).
Ability to work with remote teams.
Nice to have:
Advanced degree or MBA with BS or higher in Computer Science.
Prior experience with CNBV/Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores.
Prior experience with Banxico/Banco de México.
Prior experience with networks (MasterCard, Visa).
Prior experience with domestic transaction switches in Mexico.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
