This position has ownership of demand planning activities for our key strategic accounts (Walmart & Sam’s) and is responsible for ensuring the demand planning process delivers a reliable forecast as a key input to the supply planning system.

Responsibilities

  • Working with Sales, Marketing, Customer Marketing, Supply Planning and Finance teams in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to assure alignment in between the forecast and financial plans.

  • Developing and monitoring process metrics to drive process conformance, problem solving and improvement.

  • Identifying quantified risks within the demand plan, reviewing gaps with Sales, Marketing and Category Leader to developing appropriate countermeasures for resolution

  • Managing directly and indirectly the formulation of SKU/DC for replenishment, promotions, advertising, events, seasonal volumes and adds/deletes and validating plans directly with the customer.

  • Manage product launch/transition projects according to the agreed strategy, ensuring product availability for the launch as well as support the implementation of life cycle projects.

  • Ensure optimal levels of service and supply at the point of sale, through the design, coordination and execution of improvement plans for commercial measures (Sales, Supply, Fill Rate, Instock, Out of Stock, Forecast and days of inventory).

  • Strengthen a collaborative scheme with customers that allows visibility of the business between retailer - supplier and satisfies internal and external needs, obtaining mutual benefits behind improvements in processes, structure, and information.

  • Create and/or maintain forecasting models for each item at each stocking location and for every customer within designated product lines to achieve established forecast accuracy goals.

  • Lead monthly S&OP Process (Sales and Operation Planning) to achieve a consensus demand plan working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Marketing by performing slow movers, forecast deviations, overstock analysis among others.

  • Collaborates with, and challenges where appropriate, Sales and Customer replenishment team to drive create alignment on baseline forecasts.

  • To use as a baseline statistical forecast for SKU/Distribution Center inconsistencies and influencing system across the planning horizon by utilizing customer prior shipments, POS data, knowledge of business unit trends, and strategic business plans.

  • Manage all aspects related to development and refinement the 18-month, baseline demand plan by item for the assigned strategic accounts, channel groups, or regional sales markets.

  • Prepare and present the demand plan changes, performance results, and future plans at the S&OP Demand Review Meeting

  • Collaboration with purchasing, commercial and replenishment managers to define work plans that allow the correct execution of commercial strategies at the point of sale, seeking to maintain supply and service levels within the objective, improving year after year

  • Follow up on temporalities to always be at the point of sale, anticipating supply opportunities to correct them.

  • Total chain dispersion analysis (DOH-DDV-forecast, DOH-DDV-sale, Instock Report).

  • Being a facilitator (point of contact) between the customer and the supplier for service issues, temporalities, reinforcement of orders, etc.

  • Sell-Thru report in the BTS season to measure the speed at which a product, product/category or family is selling, in relation to its initial inventory (channel fill).

  • Carry out the distribution of the BTS season, with the amounts previously agreed with the customer at the item - warehouse - store level, seeking a low return of material at the end of the season.

  • Fill Rate Report with the causes and recovery times by item to inform the customer.

  • Share to Supply Planning team monthly, forecast for next 6 months to reserve material.

Qualifications

  • College degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Management or related technical field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience which includes:

  • Experience across multiple aspects of the supply chain with previous roles in inventory management, manufacturing planning and/or forecasting.

  • Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling and demand systems (e.g. JDA, Logility, etc.)

  • Direct interaction with customers.

  • Expertise in data acquisition, spreadsheet/database development and analysis.

  • Experience utilizing Lean principles and tools (Flow, Pull, Kanban, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, etc.).

  • Ability to:

  • Process large amounts of data and deliver a concise recommendation.

  • Operate in a structured environment and remain organized while focusing on day-to-day operational execution.

  • Influence others and drive cross-functional alignment.

  • Communicate at various organizational levels and back-up thoughts with facts.

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external business partners.

  • Work effectively in a constantly changing, fast paced team environment.

  • Run and analyze reports and determine the actions to provide the best customer experience.

  • Manage your own schedule and exhibit flexibility to support multiple projects while meeting all deadlines.

  • Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.

  • Customer focused with a strong service orientation.

  • Proficiency with Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications, and supply chain planning and optimization tools.

  • SAP IBP, Power BI, Retail Link or Madrid experience is a plus

  • Strong communication (written, verbal and presentation) and organizational skills.

  • Detail oriented, strong results orientation and work ethic; able to work independently.

  • Intermediate English Fluency
