Job Title: Production Planner

Position Summary:
Work across the Advanced Reference Materials manufacturing network to match customer demand with production schedules and raw material availability. Ensures proactive updates to customer order promise dates in the ERP. Works with Manufacturing team to keep standard lead times up to date in ERP systems both within network ERPs plus affiliate sites and communicates significant capability changes to core stakeholders. Balances expedites against FIFO orders and highlights conflicts to the commercial and operation management.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor the performance of the production schedules and proactively adjust lead times and promise dates as new information becomes available (changes to available capacity, material availability, expedite requests, etc.)
Supports dialogue between operations and commercial and customer experience teams through core S&OP meetings and regular update processes.
Work closely with the Purchasing team to prioritize component shortages, add/remove finished good forecasts that drive MRP as part of the scheduling process while understanding supplier lead times and supplier delivery information
Prepare and distribute reports required to facilitate and suggest actions to assure optimal supply chain execution
Act as the first level manufacturing liaison for the escalations from Customer Experience regarding lead times and expedite requests
Regularly examine all aspects of the scheduling process to identify process improvements wherever possible
Work with Operations Shared Service team to monitor relevant KPIs and conduct pareto analysis to identify opportunities to continually improve
Performs other duties as assigned
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university a plus
APICS CPIM or CSCP certification a plus
Experience:
3+ years in a manufacturing environment as a production scheduler or similar position
Experience using a manufacturing-based ERP and/or LIMS system
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of production control and scheduling concepts (forward and backwards scheduling, capacity constraints, WIP, pegging, cycle time, etc.)
Proficient in common computer applications for word processing and spreadsheets
Very organized with a high level of energy
A good understanding of manufacturing including BOM’s, drawings, cal specs and routers
Ability to productively interact with manufacturing assemblers, engineers, warehouse team members, buyers/planners, commercial team members and quality control
Problem solving skills: the ability to critically analyze problems by taking a methodical approach to the issue and implementing practical solutions on an expeditious basis.
Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressure, within deadlines or other time essential constraints with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate to all levels of the organization clearly and concisely.
Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization.
Familiar with lab and warehouse safety concepts and able to identify potential safety concerns.
Dependable in areas of attendance, quality, and work pace.
