Worldwide Flight Services Supervisor of Ramp Services in Mesa, Arizona

Job Description #### #### #### I. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Safe and proper execution and success of all ramp operations during the assigned duty hours. Must always be on the ramp during operations. Insures proper training of employees on the ramp, and files various administrative reports daily. Duties including, but not limited to: * Check and verify flight schedule(s) for their shift. * Determine, before each operation, the status of: * Equipment * Manpower * Brief Leads prior to operation: * Advise flight schedules and other unusual circumstances. * Advise equipment status and plans. * Determine manpower and make any necessary reassignments. * Arrange for loading and unloading of customer trucks, as required. * Sorting of freight per customer requirements, as required. * Receive verification of equipment and crew manning status from Leads. * Observe operations and make equipment, assignment, and other adjustments as necessary. * Conduct proper two-way communications in English, using ground-to-ground and air-to-ground radios and telephones, as applicable. * Ensure all crews safely meet company standards, customer on-time performance requirements, and have post operational review with customers for any issues or concerns. * Complete a final ramp check after operation(s) for: * Equipment status / Completing Equipment Condition Report & send via email * Proper wrap-up and staging of equipment * Schedule and maintain a wash program for all station equipment. * Evaluate the performance of all leads and their crews. Administer and follow through with employee discipline, as required. * Manage overtime control with time clock, and fill out reports. * Must be certified on all appropriate ramp equipment. 2. Attend all meetings and complete all training and certification, as required by WFS, customer, airport, and all applicable government agencies in a timely manner. (Working usage of English required, appropriate to function) 3. Adhere to all airport and facility regulations regarding proper security and identification procedures, including correct escort and security identification badge/challenge responsibilities. 4. Comply with all safety regulations, methods, and procedures required by WFS, customers, airport, and all applicable government agencies. 5. Adhere to WFS attendance requirements: * Report to work, on time and as scheduled. * “No Call – No Show” and arriving after scheduled time will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. * All exceptions must be approved and documented by Station Manager. Required Skills Load and unload aircraft of cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. in and out of aircraft within confined cargo areas, push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers with/to aircraft. Transport cargo to and from aircraft driving 3,000 lb. vehicle using depth perception to negotiate vehicle with attached carts through congested area. Read "off-load" sheets to determine destination of cargo. While performing aircraft push-out and/or towing functions, engage in proper specific ground to cockpit communication via hand signals and voice commands, with and without, the assistance of sight or visual aids. Ability to successfully communicate with others. Ability to work in a high-noise level environment. Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without, assistance of sight or visual aids. Pull, push, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs. onto or from a conveyor belt. Pull water hose from stationary cabinet and connect to aircraft. Lift, connect overhead and remove overhead, 40 lb. KVA electric cable to/from aircraft. De-ice aircraft at heights of up to 20 - 80 ft. lifting and holding nose, spray exterior of wings and fuselage with glycol. Ability to judge distances. Ability to confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas, and report their presence to authorities as necessary. Required Experience Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED required. Valid drivers license. Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e. Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays, and days off.
