Robert Half Staff Accountant in Mesa, Arizona

Description

We are a reputable non-profit organization in Mesa, AZ, with an immediate need for a Contract-to-Hire Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with NetSuite software and a strong background in non-profit accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting tasks using NetSuite software

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions

  • Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger maintenance

  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

  • Prepare financial reports and statements for management review

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities

  • Handle grant accounting and reporting

  • Collaborate with program managers on financial matters

  • Support audit preparations and interact with auditors as needed

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit sector

  • Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP software

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and non-profit accounting principles

  • Experience with grant accounting and reporting is highly desirable

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications

This is an immediate need for a contract-to-hire position located in Mesa, AZ. The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in our non-profit organization, ensuring accurate financial management and compliance. The role is fully in-office.
