The BAE Systems FAST Labs RF, Electronics, Cyber Converged Solutions (CS) and RF Exploitation and Architectures (REXAS) Technical Areas are growing rapidly. Ranging from generation of new RF/cyber algorithms through demonstration of advanced electronic warfare capabilities in integrated systems at government ranges, CS and REXAS have established BAE Systems as an industry leader in the development of cutting-edge technologies. With this growth, we are seeking interns to help us grow our software frameworks, tools and infrastructure to an expanded future state. Through innovative R&D and customer program collaboration, your work will help enable the rapid development and fielding of effects across the RF/cyber spectrum for next generation mission support.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format , with time split between working onsite and remotely. Roles and Responsibilities may include:

  • Support to the design, development and selection of basic software components utilizing fundamental engineering principles, theories and techniques.

  • Support to Scientists and Technology Development Managers to develop designs and concepts to be utilized for new business pursuits.

  • Obtain working knowledge of company tools. Perform analyses and compile data for investigation by senior personnel.

  • Support contract work in cyber/RF capability development.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Registered in and pursuing a technical Bachelor's or Master's of Science Degree from an accredited University.

  • Thorough knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant field of specialization.

  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.

  • Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently.

  • Previous work experience not required but helpful.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Student should be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar.

Basic fluency in one or more of the following engineering design software technologies:

  • Software development experience (C/C Preferred)

  • Python software development experience

  • Mathematical Computation Software (Matlab, MathCAD, Mathematica)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $44660 - $60280

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
