Responsibilities

Mercury Fleet and Fuel Operations is looking for a motivated, self-starting Senior Maintenance Specialist to assist in the oversight of the MSTS Fleet Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Program, Fleet Telematics Management and Fuel operations within Fleet and Critical Site Infrastructure. This position reports to the Mercury Fleet and Fuel Operations Supervisor and is located at the NNSS in Mercury, NV. This position requires a candidate to interact with multiple layers of management in MSTS and DOE headquarters. It requires someone who is detail oriented and a high level of organizational skills. The Senior Maintenance Specialist will also serve as a mentor and coach to others in Mercury Fleet and Fuel Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for Fuel, Fleet EVSE requirements, and Telematics Reporting in accordance with governing executive orders.

  • Work with Finance and Accounting on fuel tax reporting for submittal to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

  • Oversight and management of fueling stations and bulk fuel tank farms.

  • Oversee operation and maintenance of Fuel and Tank Monitoring Management software.

  • Data entry of field fueling delivery sheets.

  • Billing of the fuel and reconciliation of vendor invoices while adhering to record retention/disposition guidelines.

  • Create documentation to track hazardous material and personnel movements associated with fuel.

  • Manage, maintain, and enhance Telematics Program which will ultimately include 900+ assets.

  • Provides daily support for technical, software, application and hardware issues for telematics program.

  • Participate business process improvement, quality control, special projects and other initiatives associated with telematics and asset optimization.

  • Prepares fleet and fuel invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements, and other documents, using business software, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, financial, etc.

  • Monitor Fuel service station functionality and resolve issues with dispensers and other Fuel station peripherals.

  • Manage electric vehicle and station monitoring system, prepare Department of Energy Headquarter EVSE reporting, activations of stations and cards while interfacing with project managers until completion.

  • Documents and reports vehicle fleet data and fuel data to the Energy Council for annual Site Sustainability Plan.

  • Perform all duties in compliance with Fleet Management Organizational Procedures.

  • Work with outside vendors and internal departments to resolve payment and other relevant issues.

  • Implementation of SAFER.

  • Any projects as assigned within reason.

  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience with at least 5 years relevant, progressively responsible experience.

  • Experience in Fuel business and management principles or related field is highly desired.

  • Working knowledge of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment desired.

  • Skill to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making.

  • Experience in Fleet business and management principles or related field is highly desired.

  • Must be highly organized and able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, accomplish work, and meet required deadlines.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people inside and outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while screening and maintaining confidentiality.

  • Able to remember extensive policies, procedures, terminology, schedules, personnel, and other details.

  • Able to use software applications needed in the position, including Microsoft Suite and general office equipment.

  • The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).

  • Work schedule will be 4/10's Monday through Thursday (subject to change).

  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘ Identity, Credential, and Access Management ,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘ Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors .’

Annual salary range for this position is:$77,001.60 - $115,502.40.

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
