Responsibilities

Mercury Fleet is looking for a motivated, self-starting Principal Maintenance Specialist to assist in the oversight of the MSTS Fleet Program within Fleet and Critical Site Infrastructure. This position reports to the Mercury Fleet Superintendent and is located at the NNSS in Mercury, NV. This position is instrumental as a liaison with General Services Administration (GSA) and interacts with multiple layers of management in MSTS and DOE headquarters. It requires someone who is detail oriented and a high level of organizational skills. The Principal Maintenance Specialist will also serve as a mentor and coach to others in Mercury Fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for General Services Administration (GSA).

  • Oversee and manage the Customer Acquisition Module (CAM) for GSA.

  • Coordinate fuel cards for government vehicles and short-term rentals. This includes oversight of card inventory, ordering new cards for new vehicles, and ordering replacements for lost/damaged cards.

  • Coordinate license plates for government vehicles (G-plates), trailers (E-plates), and other MSTS owned vehicles (E-plates). This includes oversight of new and excess plates.

  • Work with MSTS Legal for insurance coverage on vehicles.

  • Marshalling of vehicles per GSA guidelines as well as keeping vehicles updated with GSA.

  • Organizing and managing license plates for all E-plated vehicles.

  • Back-up for the oversight of the Satellite Accumulation Area (SAA).

  • Records coordinator for Mercury Fleet.

  • Perform all duties in compliance with Fleet Management Organizational Procedure.

  • Oversight and management of government vehicle excessing.

  • Implementation of SAFE.

  • Any projects as assigned within reason.

  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience with at least 8 years relevant, progressively responsible experience.

  • Experience in Fleet Commander, GSA, and marshalling duties highly desired.

  • Experience in Fleet business and management principles or related field is highly desired.

  • Working knowledge of IBM Maximo desired.

  • Skill to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making.

  • Must be highly organized and able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, accomplish work, and meet required deadlines.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people inside and outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while screening and maintaining confidentiality.

  • Able to remember extensive policies, procedures, terminology, schedules, personnel, and other details.

  • Able to use software applications needed in the position, including Microsoft Suite and general office equipment.

  • The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).

  • Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).

  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘ Identity, Credential, and Access Management ,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘ Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors .’

Annual salary range for this position is: $97,448.00 - $148,616.00.

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
