JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Fabrication Technician Brake Press programmer Reports to: Fabrication Supervisor Classification: Non-Exempt UNISIG specializes in the design, engineering and production of high performance, precision CNC machine tools and automation. POSITION SUMMARY Join our brand-new state-of-the-art fabrication department to weld/fabricate precision components used to manufacture our high-value, automated machines. Our new fab shop will be a showcase of technology, smart processing, and precision workmanship. We have invested in the best tools, and we want to hire the best people to use them. This position will plan, program and run the brand new high-end Amada Press Brake. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Utilize Amada software in combination with CAD or Solidworks to plan and program the press. Operate press for low volume, high precision parts for use in our proprietary machine tool builds. Utilize material handling equipment to supply machine and department with required material (15%). Operate new Amada laser when needed (15%) Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings, working with engineering to continuously improve work product. Work with materials such as steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in fabrication, programming, or similar structured training program preferred. Experience with CAD or Solidworks preferred. Self-directed, organized, productive, strong attention to detail, pride in workmanship and strong written and verbal communication skill crucial for success. Must be able to furnish own tools. PHYSICAL REEQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds unassisted. Regular use of overhead cranes for lifts greater than 50 pounds. Regularly stands for 8 hours. Regularly bends, stoops, reaches and moves. Regularly exerts up to 10 pounds of force and frequently exerts up to 25 pounds of force to move objects. Constantly required to correctly follow written and verbal instructions/prints requiring concentration and mental capability. Regularly utilizes precise, coordinated hand movement, hand/eye coordination, close focus and depth perception. The nature of the work involves contact with various metals and oils. Work environment is bright and temperature controlled.
