Summary:

Our team, Data Infra, has a mission to empower people to drive better outcomes with data. At Facebook, data is used to build empathy and connection between us and our users. We use data to power ML for our products, keep an eye on how we are serving all of our users, make strategic and tactical decisions, keep our systems running, and discover new ways to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Facebook’s Data Infra team is looking for a Director of Product Management to lead a team of product managers to help innovate and execute in multiple areas of Data Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be passionate and have proven success in building and managing PM teams, including growing product managers into organizational leaders and working closely with a broad range of technical and non-technical cross-functional partners. In this role, you'll invest in the growth of your team by helping set clear expectations and development plans; providing regular, actionable feedback; and coaching or sharing resources/opportunities, as needed, to hold your team accountable to success. You will create strategies for new and large product areas and help guide your team, as well as influence other parts of the company, to leverage existing or emerging data/research to drive effective execution and experimentation frameworks in largely ambiguous spaces.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead a team through the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products

  2. Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers and designers

  3. Attract, build, manage, and develop a talented, diverse, equitable and inclusive team of product managers and product leaders

  4. Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution

  5. Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction

  6. Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products

  7. Understand Facebook’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry

  8. Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm

  9. Manage multiple products and priorities, scale teams, and ensure org is effective, healthy and set up for success by establishing clear and measurable goals

  10. Identify and initiate opportunities for new projects or focus areas and builds teams necessary to execute

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 12+ years of experience in Product Management and/or Product Design

  2. 12+ years of experience working collaboratively with engineering, design and user research teams

  3. 8+ years of experience hiring, managing, and developing both individual contributors and senior leaders

  4. Critical thinking/analytical leadership experience

  5. Experience presenting to senior executive audiences

  6. BA/BS in Computer Science or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in building products related to BI systems, ML development, data warehouse, systems monitoring

  2. Experience building 0-1 products, platform/ecosystem products, or marketplaces
