Description

Our growing Human Resources and Total Rewards team is looking for a Benefits Specialist! This role is an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a variety of rewards programs and employee leave management while having a direct, positive impact on our employees. The Benefits Specialist serves as a point of contact for leaders and employees and responsible for leave administration, benefit administration, and data integrity of Human Resources information and records. This individual provides technical and administrative support to the Director of Total Rewards.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Maintains confidentiality of all employee information and files

  • Administer all Leave of Absences including FMLA and non-FMLA leaves.

  • Educate employees and HR Business Partners regarding process, timing, and expectations for all leave requests.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining Leave Cases in Paycom, sending impacted employee required notifications and paperwork and follow up as required.

  • Review and submit Employer documentation on all STD, Life and AD&D claims.

  • Collaborate with HRBPs to ensure critical information is appropriately shared.

  • Discuss any special requests for leave of absence with appropriate leader.

  • Audit and maintain benefit information in the HRIS system (Paycom) by managing data entry related to various employee benefit programs, such as group insurance, life, medical and dental, accident and disability, flexible spending accounts, insurance, retirement, and health maintenance programs.

  • Manage missed premium tracking for employees on FMLA/LOA. Partner with Payroll team to ensure catch up payments are accurate and submitted timely each pay period.

  • Act as Primary HR contact and liaison with employees for health and related benefit questions and issues, including how to access and obtain information and provide logical explanation of company benefits and related incentive programs. This includes:

  • Weekly new hire benefit overviews (TEAMS)

  • Quarterly company-wide benefit overviews (TEAMS/In-Person)

  • Annual Open Enrollment (TEAMS/In-Person)

  • Audit and approve weekly multi-step benefit enrollment in HRIS to ensure accurate enrollment. Follow up with newly eligible employees as required to ensure enrollment deadlines are met.

  • Review, maintain, and process monthly group benefit invoicing for Life, AD&D, Short and Long-Term Disability, and worksite benefits administered by AFLAC.

  • Collaborate with Director of Total Rewards to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Produce and distribute weekly new hire census reports to benefit vendors to ensure reasonable timelines for enrollment are provided to all eligible employees.

  • Create and deliver weekly email to new hires regarding 401(k) auto-enrollment, and Unum Voluntary benefit enrollment.

  • Build positive relationships with the broader HR Team by participating in monthly HR meetings to establish credibility as a subject matter expert and inform of ongoing HR strategic priorities.

  • Review and approve eligibility for multi-discipline career ladder programs. Process monthly bonus payments and base wage increases in HRIS based on tier completion report provided by education team.

  • Review and approve eligibility of tuition reimbursement program. Partner with employees to answer questions and inquiries related to annual and lifetime maximum reimbursement.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related experience in Human Resources

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast paced, rapid-growth organization

  • Ability to work with highly confidential information with discretion

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, employees, and leadership

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Extreme attention to detail and strong organization skills to multi-task numerous assignments simultaneously with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with competing deadlines and short lead times

  • Ability to prioritize transactional duties to support employee inquiries

  • Basic understanding and real-life experience in supporting various human resource functions

  • Understanding of benefits and leaves administration and processes

  • Technical proficiency in all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience using Paycom HRIS a plus

    The starting salary range for this role is $75,000-$83,000 annual base salary. This range is a good faith estimate; we may pay more or less than the posted range, and this range may be modified in the future. Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The total compensation package for this position may also include the opportunity to participate in employee benefits including our medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) retirement plans, subject to applicable plan terms, and/or eligibility for other compensation.
