Unity House IPS Employment Specialist in Menands, New York
Unique opportunity to assist Unity House of Troy’s vulnerable populations. As the Individual Placement Support Employment Specialist, your priority will be assisting with employment opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Actively collaborate with the ACT team and other agency programs in the development and planning and implementation of individualized employment.
Assist with educational services for participants, including visits to local GED programs and colleges.
Provide direct support with helping an individual find and secure a job.
Assist with resume writing, completing applications and scheduling or participant in interviews.
May provide follow-along job coaching. Support individuals to maintain their job.
Complete case record documentation as required by program funding sources and Unity House in a timely manner.
Ensures standards for proper maintenance of individuals case records, including accurate NYESS activity documentation in our electronic health records system.
Promote an environment of inclusion and belonging.
Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma or GED. Please have at least Six (6) months of personal or professional experience in human services working with people with severe mental illness. Experience providing employment services to people with barriers to employment preferred. Must have a NYS driver license that is valid with a clean record. Reliable transportation. Ability to travel independently, or with reasonable accommodations, throughout the community and outreach with local employers. Ability to work with a team. Must be able to produce reports and use computer software.
