Baptist Memorial Director-Admissions and Student Affairs in Memphis, Tennessee

Summary

The Director of Admissions and Student Affairs provides direct professional oversight, support and guidance to Osteopathic Medical Students as they advance during their predoctoral medical careers at the BUCOM. Assist in the administrative functions, operations and coordination of the admission and student affairs policies and processes for BUCOM. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean of Administration, Operations, and Services, the incumbent is responsible for shifts equal to 40 hours per week and are subject to hours beyond the normal workday.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all activities involved with the recruitment, selection, and matriculation of prospective students to BUCOM.

  • Transformational leadership of the Admissions and Student Affairs areas including direct supervision of the Associate Director of Admissions, the Associate Director of Financial Aid, the Associate Director of Student Affairs, and the Clinical Psychologist

  • Develops data-driven recruitment strategies by effectively utilizing data from a variety of sources to evaluate student characteristics and trends, as well as the University's market position and competition.

  • Coordinate with the Marketing Department to provide marketing and public relation activities to insure effective representation of the BUCOM throughout the community.

  • Collaborate with the Dean and Vice President Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (VPEMSA) in the development, implementation and assessment of policies and procedures related to admissions and student services.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to develop programs and activities to support the successful matriculation of the BUCOM students.

  • Effectively utilizes University resources in accomplishing departmental objectives by planning, developing, and controlling the budget of the Office of Admissions and Student Services.

  • Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Education

Desired: Master Degree in Counseling, Student Personnel Services, Educational Administration, or similar field.

Desired: Minimum of three (5) years of experience managing an admissions and/or retention office within a college environment.
