As a Clinical Research Associate-RN III in the Division of Quality of Life and Palliative Care, you will provide support to our faculty-initiated studies as well as QoLA Team research and QI initiatives. When a faculty member in the division has new project ideas, you are there to assist with research and proposals while also attending stakeholder meetings. Research has been focused on pain management, yet the scope of projects is about to expand with your help. Other responsibilities include enrolling and educating participants on active studies, updating databases, reviewing research findings, and developing patient safety initiatives. The role of Clinical Research Associate- RN III will entail the following responsibilities:
Operates independently with limited supervision.
Acts as Project Manager for institutional as well as St. Jude sponsored, multi-center trials, including regulatory, financial, and administrative aspects of the study.
Acts as site Study Coordinator for complex, large multi-site and/or multidisciplinary clinical trials.
Assists in the development of an ongoing review of departmental/divisional standard operating procedures.
Serves as a preceptor/mentor to new clinical research staff. Performs data abstraction, collection, and entry to support clinical research.
Prepares submission for all reportable events.
Develops, maintains, and/or monitors case report forms.
Ensures compliance with prescribed interventions and evaluations of the assigned protocol(s).
Provides data to the collaborating research organization or study sponsor. Prepares data reports.
Provides patient care, education, and management.
Position has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Nursing Executive/CNO.
Coordinates with supervisor and Nursing Executive/CNO to ensure consistent institution-wide compliance with standards of nursing practice.
Graduation from a school of nursing is required.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Four (4) years of direct experience in clinical biomedical and/or behavioral research required.
(LC: RN-TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure Non-Compact state.
(LC: RN-MISS, RN-ARK or RN-KY) Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
(LC:SOCRA or ACRP)Certification in clinical research from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) must be obtained within three (3) years of assuming the position.
