St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Clinical Research Associate I in Memphis, Tennessee

As a member of the Epidemiology & Cancer Control clinical research team, you will be instrumental in developing survivorship care plans which are used by survivors and their primary care physicians. Much of your time will be spent abstracting pertinent information from the time of diagnosis, including chemotherapy, radiation treatment, and other clinical events, out of the medical records to build the reports. In this role, you will be working with one of the largest studies taking place at St. Jude. Clinical experience is extremely beneficial since you will be reporting on all body systems and reviewing medical charts. We are highly seeking experience that must include:

  • Clinical record collection and abstraction

  • Comprehensive understanding of medical and pharmaceutical terminology, to be able to synthesize clinical information in accordance with standardized core concepts

  • Ability to understand clinical protocols and determine protocol compliance/deviations

  • Data abstraction from electronic and paper medical records

  • Adapting to changes in time-lines, requirements, and project assignments

As the Clinical Research Associate I, your responsibilities will include:

  • Abstract, collect, and document data from patient medical record for childhood cancer survivors, specifically pertaining to diagnosis, treatment - including chemotherapy, radiation, cancer-directed surgeries - and clinical events that support clinical research in the area of cancer survivorship

  • Prepare submission for all reportable events (e.g. adverse events, protocol variances, violations).

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor case report forms.

  • Ensure compliance with prescribed interventions and evaluations of the assigned protocol(s).

  • Provide data to the collaborating research organization or study sponsor. Prepare data reports. Create survivorship care plan

  • Bachelor's degree in a related biomedical/bio-behavioral field required

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Two (2) years of experience in clinical research, research, or related field required with Bachelor's degree

  • No experience required with a Master's degree in a related field

  • (LC: SOCRA or ACRP) Certification in clinical research from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) must be obtained within three (3) years of assuming the position
