St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Clinical Fellow in Memphis, Tennessee

The Department of Psychology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking applications for postdoctoral fellowships with an emphasis on children with cancer, hematological disorders including sickle cell disease, and infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS) and childhood cancer survivors. The primary goal of the fellowship program is to rigorously train future pediatric psychologists in the provision of clinical service and research with pediatric patients with cancer, hematological disorders, and HIV/AIDS. Postdoctoral positions in pediatric psychology are available in our Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.

We have 1-year clinical track, 2-year clinical-research track, and 2-year research track fellowship positions with flexibility in the balance of clinical and research responsibilities.

This is a 1-year or 2-year commitment with flexibility given to fellows with regard to balance of clinical and research responsibilities based on fellowship track. Fellows receive clinical training in assessment and intervention with infants through young adults.

Openings are available in the following research areas:

  • Sleep disruptions in children with cancer

  • Cancer predisposition and adjustment in families of children with cancer

  • Social outcomes in children with cancer

Clinical populations served include infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer, sickle cell disease and other hematological disorders, and HIV/AIDS. Positions emphasize clinical investigation and offer supervised clinical hours for those desiring licensure. St. Jude is a recognized APPIC member. Opportunities for collaborations are available with the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center and the University of Memphis, Department of Psychology. Salary is competitive and consistent with NIH fellowship guidelines.

  • PhD or PsyD in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited doctoral program. For research tracks, PhD from a relevant discipline.

Completed online applications are requested by December 15, 2021; however applications will be accepted until positions are filled.

  • Cover letter

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)

  • Three letters of recommendation (called “evaluations” by the APPA system), including one from internship director

  • Statement from graduate program training director verifying date doctoral requirements will be met

  • An official graduate transcript
