Description

We are in the process of recruiting an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. The role is centered around the management of our accounts payable process, ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and credit applications, and providing a swift resolution to any discrepancies. This is a contract only role.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the 3-way matching payment verification method, including purchase orders, receiving reports, and vendor invoices

• Monitor and take advantage of discount opportunities when paying vendors

• Schedule and prepare checks for vendor payments

• Resolve any issues related to purchase orders, invoices, or payments

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable files

• Collaborate with the Receiving and Purchasing Departments to address any shortages, pricing, or damage issues

• Provide support to the Accounts Payable team

• Participate in special projects as needed

• Ensure understanding of vendor terms of payment

• Perform data entry and general ledger tasks.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable or similar role

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Demonstrated experience in Account Reconciliation

• Knowledge of Accrual Entries is a must

• Familiarity with General Ledger

• Strong data entry skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or SAP

• Ability to handle confidential information in a discrete and detail oriented manner

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when needed.
