H2M architects + engineers IT Operations Manager in Melville, New York
Manage IT operations and initiatives with ability to provide innovative solutions. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth operation of technology resources, provide technical support to staff, implement and maintain IT policies and procedures. In addition, this role works closely with the IT infrastructure Manager and Director in support of current and future cloud technologies, related IT management and processes, including security, disaster recovery and business continuity. Must be hands-on leader and able to mentor other team members.
Responsibilities:
Systems Management:
- Manage all IT operations to include installation, configuration, maintenance, and deployments to meet end-user expectations.
- Manage and develop innovative software solutions and integrations that add value to the organization.
- Provide recommendations and guidance on all software and hardware needs and trends.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure manager in maintaining infrastructure integrity to support file, email and print services (Active Directory, MS Entra, Panzura, Office 365) in addition to wireless and remote access, and the design and deployment of new technologies.
Training and Development:
- Manage, train, and develop junior members of the team.
- Stay appraised on new technologies with ability to translate them into viable business tools.
Security Management:
- Oversee the operational integrity of the company security posture and provide recommendations as needed.
Technical Support:
- Oversee management of the IT help desk, providing assistance on complex issues as needed, enforcing established SLA's.
Policy Development:
- Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices, as well as to promote efficient and secure use of technology resources.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network administration, use policy, and disaster recovery.
- Oversee the enforcement of established service level agreements.
Vendor Management:
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers to procure IT equipment and services, negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery and satisfactory performance.
Budgeting and Planning:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop IT budgets and long-term strategic plans, identifying areas for investment and improvement to support the organization's goals and objectives.
Position Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
Experience:
- 15 years' proven experience in an IT role, preferably within the engineering or professional services industry.
- Experience managing project teams to develop, execute and complete projects and assignments.
- Experience training, mentoring, and managing staff and working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, systems administration, and cybersecurity principles working in a complex network environment supporting various network protocols (VOIP, CIFS, SMB, SEIM, XDR, MDR, Darktrace, Cisco AMP, Microsoft securities, TCP/IP, NetFlow, DNS, DHCP, iSCSI, SAN, NAS, DELL servers, laptops, Cisco Meraki access points, switches, and routers).
- Experience in no-code low-code programing and able to create SQL queries, SQL reports, and Python is a plus.
- Extensive application support experience in the Microsoft Office 365 platform to include SharePoint.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, MS Power platform, MS Teams, Webex, Autodesk cloud and Adobe cloud solutions can Cloud management/Securities are desired.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, including the expertise to investigate and troubleshoot problems at each layer of the OSI model and provide solutions is required.
- Must have experience with project management and ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Highly self-motivated and driven with a strong sense of customer satisfaction.
- Detail oriented with ability to follow issues through to completion and possesses the skills to effectively prioritize and execute projects.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus.
The salary range for this role is $95, 000 - $125, 000 annually.
