Resideo ESG Controller, Sr. Director in Melville, New York

At Resideo, we are actively seeking an experienced professional to join our team in a newly created role as the Global Controller - ESG. This role will be instrumental in establishing robust internal processes and controls to meet the evolving global regulatory requirements.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Monitor the evolving global regulatory ESG reporting landscape and orchestrates various stakeholders in evolving our strategy to meet all requirements; stays apprised of voluntary ESG reporting developments so as to ensure consistency in what is reported externally.

  • Evaluate and determine the applicability of new reporting regulations globally (and at the legal entity level) based on deterministic thresholds (e.g. materiality, corporate size, etc.).

  • Builds our capabilities to meet all mandatory ESG reporting requirements globally.

  • Assists teams in building and/or optimizing data and process flows, ultimately implementing SOX-like controls across the end-to-end business processes from data sources through disclosures.

  • Develops and operationalizes standardized policies and processes with regard to sustainability reporting (e.g., materiality assessments, disclosure controls and procedures, estimation approaches).

  • Key liaison with external audit firms to drive limited and reasonable assurance over ESG disclosures.

  • Builds and leads a global ESG Council.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Investor Relations, Legal, and Operations subject matter teams covering E, S, and G, across the globe to ensure regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Trains key employee groups on reporting processes, controls, and regulatory requirements.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 10+ years of experience in a combination of ESG reporting, accounting and financial reporting, internal controls, risk management, data management, or related fields.

  • 10+ years of experience in building and leading high-performing and diverse global teams.

  • Experience in building and improving well-controlled (SOX compliant) processes leveraging technology that scales globally.

  • In-depth understanding of ESG issues and willingness to keep up to date with the latest ESG guidelines and developments.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal proficiencies, facilitating effective engagement with senior management and external stakeholders.

  • Exposure to working in a multinational setting, navigating diverse business landscapes and cultures.

  • Exhibited capacity to drive change and exert influence on decision-making processes to enhance organizational performance and efficacy.

  • Robust analytical and problem-solving aptitudes, coupled with strategic thinking capabilities to furnish actionable recommendations.

  • The typical base salary for this role, ranges from USD $186,758 to $324,908 per year but varies by specific work location. For example, the base salary for this role in Melville, NY is $214,772 to $373,645 per year. Within a range, Resideo determines base pay for an individual based on various factors, including market conditions, skills, and experience.

  • This role is eligible to participate in the Resideo Bonus Plan (RBP) subject to the terms and conditions of the Plan. You can earn an annual bonus of 20% of your annual salary. This percent will be prorated based on your hire date. Business performance against pre-established financial goals for the fiscal year will determine 100% of the bonus payment amount. If your first day of eligibility under the Plan is after November 1st, you are not eligible for an RBP payout in March of the following year.
