Henry Schein Business Development Executive, Dental Community Health Centers in Melville, New York

JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for growing the US Dental Group revenues, reputation, and image by selling, servicing, and developing targeted large accounts. Critical responsibilities include engaging key customer executive management to understand needs, recommending supply and service solutions to establish primary vendor agreements (PVAs). The Business Development Executive (BDE) works closely with the dental field sales organization to identify new 3rd party funded groups, develops relationships in customer organization, develops and presents proposals, presentations, and understand profit modeling. The BDE develops and implements national dental sales and marketing programs to drive growth, increase market share, create brand loyalty, and achieve desired sales and profitability goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sell, negotiate, and implement distribution agreements with new and under-developed customers in the defined segments (One Schein portfolio companies). Included is the production of the draft agreement, pricing review and approval from the assigned support team and sales management.
  • Provide ongoing support to new and existing customers through regular contacts maintaining relationships and implementing strategic programs for account penetration. Monitor sales, gross profit, and customer engagement with other HS offerings.
  • Interpret and communicates strategic information to sales consultants and sales management to ensure competitive strategies are understood and executed by Sales and Operations Teams.
  • Responsible for all RFP's and proposal development in your area. Understands competitive market conditions and provides ongoing feedback to the organization.
  • Attends regional Henry Schein meetings and networking events, develop FSC partnerships to expand market share, leverages manufacturer partners to penetrate new business, and industry networking.
  • Negotiates on behalf of the customer with manufacturers to obtain local cost contracts, works closely with RFP and Pricing teams to establish improved GP$, and partner with the Field Sales organization on rules of engagement
  • Develop Rules of Engagement for all new contracted customers

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the sales or marketing in dental distribution or manufacturing. Minimum experience working with NDSOs and large dental offices.
  • Bachelors' degree or the equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental organization
  • Demonstrated experience in developing new and successful business initiatives and the ability to coordinate relevant services to incorporate into customer programs and offerings.
  • Basic computer software skills including the use of spreadsheets, word processing, and Power-Point.
  • Must know purchasing software and their interaction with ERP systems including AP and AR.
  • Understand supply chain processes in a healthcare provider organization.
  • Ability to give professional presentations to board-level executives.
  • Ability to negotiate legal contract terms within company policies and directives.
  • Previous experience with team selling is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, business planning, sales strategy, problem solving, decision making and time management skills.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; 3 or more years of management experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically up to 80% including local and regional travel.

The posted range for this position is $109,807-$192,163 which is the expected starting basesalary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Manyfactors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, priorexperience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.

  • This position is eligible for abonus/incentive/commission not reflected in the posted range.
