Job Summary

  • Associates in Applied Science in Electronic, Computer Engineering or military/technical school equivalent or 8-10 years of related experience.

  • 6+ years manufacturing electronic troubleshooting experience

  • Strong analog and digital circuit analytical skills

  • Able to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, Test Data, drawings, BOMS, and Change Orders.

  • Ability to setup, configure, and use standard benchtop test equipment such as digital multimeter, oscilloscopes, functional generators, etc. for troubleshooting electronic assemblies from scratch and then document the setup.

  • Capable of performing In-System programming (ISP) and Boundary Scan testing.

  • X-Ray experience

  • Able to troubleshoot PCBA failures down to component level.

  • Identify and isolate the root cause of defective components with a detail failure analysis report.

  • Have a strong understanding of manufacturing process like SMT, machine and hand soldering, Functional testing, AS9100, etc.

  • Capable of assembly and dis-assembly of electro-mechanical hardware using basic hand tools.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to variety of technologies that allows for effective troubleshooting.

  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and quickly with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Able to work independently and self-motivated, interpersonal, and leadership skill.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for troubleshooting electronic assemblies to component level using schematics and various equipment including but not limited to o'scopes, DMM, computer controlled test equipment.

  • Reporting defects/failures with clear and concise descriptions into MES by following IPC-610 defect description structure.

  • Manage debug WIP, generate daily report, and highlight key issues.

  • Identify and track defect trends.

  • Assemble and dis-assemble electro-mechanical assemblies from upper units for fault isolation.

  • Identify and isolate the root cause of defective components with a detail failure analysis report. Recommend corrective / preventive actions.

  • Assist engineering and test engineering as necessary in the design, fabrication, or validation of test/debug stations.

  • Mentor and train newer technicians. Provide guidance on troubleshooting complex failures.

  • Provide technical support to engineers and scientist on a variety of complex components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment

  • Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches and running sheets of significant complexity

  • Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and safety rules

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certification

  • Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials

  • Perform Key Performance Indicators:

  • Meet production deadlines

  • Raw material stock levels

  • Diagnose cause of electrical, optical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance

  • Modify a variety of complex electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations

  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

  • Perform standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and recording results

Qualifications

  • Requires an associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in the field or in a related area

  • Must demonstrate strong decision-making and leadership skills.

  • Experienced handling small delicate components, using ESD practices

  • Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus.

  • Must be experienced in the safe handling of chemicals.

  • Experienced in the use of various computer applications, including Access, Excel, and Labview.

  • Experience with MRP a plus.

  • Must have good mechanical skills
