Health First Distribution Center Associate I - Health First Incorporated, System Logistics, Full Time in Melbourne, Florida

The Distribution Center Associate is responsible and accountable for providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship through effective materials management of programs in supply logistics, inventory management, computer support, and supply channel management to clinical departments. Assist assigned departments through action and education to achieve product standardization, optimum inventory levels and reduction of operating expenses.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Receives, stores, pulls and delivers departmental and medical records in accordance with established procedures.

  • Provides Logistic Services to all departments and distributes medical supplies or equipment to supported customer areas. Receives supplies and equipment using Materials Management Information Systems.

  • Safely operates pickup, vans, and various trucks up to 24 feet in length. Utilizes vehicles to provide pickups and deliveries to supported organizations. Safely utilizes pallet jacks, hand trucks, furniture dollies and other moving equipment.

  • Operates various, large materials handling vehicles including sit down forklift, reach truck, riding floor weeper/scrubber, and order picker to support Distribution Center operations in 78,000 square feet facility. Conducts daily equipment inspections and performs minor maintenance as required.

  • Receives, stores, inventories, distributes disposes, maintains records, and processes recalls/withdrawals in accordance with applicable statues.

  • Associate degree from an accredited school in Business Administration or related discipline is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) education is mandatory.

  • Minimum of two years hospital related experience involving selection, procurement, distribution, or inventory control of medical/surgical supplies preferred.

  • High degree of math aptitude and communication skills (reading, writing, speaking in English)

  • Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP or equal) by the American Hospital Association (AHA) preferred.

  • Valid Florida driver's license and the ability to safely operate 24 trucks.

  • Ability to operate sit down forklift, reach truck, and stock picker.
