Citigroup VP Product Manager, Securities Services in Melbourne, Australia
An opportunity exists for an experienced Product Manager within the Direct Custody and Clearing (DCC) business of Securities Services covering the Australian and New Zealand financial markets. The Product Manager is responsible for the development, daily management and support of the DCC product, covering but not limited to; coordination and project management of market changes, system / operational changes and regulatory/compliance related changes as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have past experience working in a fast paced, high pressure environment in which you were required to deal with multiple demands, effectively priorities and quickly adjust to changing needs. You will demonstrate good project management skills and ability to work in close partnership with operational teams to assist in achieving positive outcomes for our clients. Strong communication skills and an ability build valuable relationships with key stakeholders is essential, as is a good understanding of the regulatory environment as it relates to areas of product management responsibility. An ability to confidently engage with and present to clients, at industry forums and to senior leaders will be highly regarded.
Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Direct Custody & Clearing Services - Australia, your main accountabilities will include:
Ensuring that the DCC service offering is best of class in the industry and our standards/processes keep up with new technologies to ensure Citi is at the forefront of the industry.
Assist with responses to request for proposal/request for information (RFP/RFI) materials received from prospects/clients and contribute to on-site presentation materials. Participate in sales presentation as required and all client due diligence visits.
Assist client documentation negotiation with members of the sales/relationship team together with legal and risk teams.
Assist regional and global product teams with information requests, client support and presentations as appropriate.
Actively participate in industry groups and regularly meet with and develop relationships with participating bodies to represent Citi on regulatory, compliance and industry standard issues.
Work with sales, client executives and global/regional pricing teams on pricing proposals/models for existing/prospective clients to protect margin and maximise profits.
Responsible for the timely and accurate creation/update of market information documents (incl. Market Watch, Market Profiles, Service Profiles etc.)
To identify, develop and project manage the implementation of new products, product improvements and changes, including co-ordination and leading NPAC for all new local DCC related products.
Assisting the client executive and sales team in the creation and communication of sales aid material, competitor comparisons and product usage ideas together with development of webinars for clients.
Regularly review and understand operational processes and assist with the identification of shortcomings and implementation of improvements.
Maintain local Product Catalogues and arrange for annual review and signoff.
KEY COMPETENCIES / SKILLS
Strong technical custody knowledge and experience dealing with clearing systems (e.g. CHESS, NZClear and Austraclear).
Understanding and experience with managed funds processing and unlisted securities.
Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance environment.
Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
Proactive mind set for initiating ongoing process improvements
Strong communication skills and client service experience with a customer service / client focus
Ability to deal with all levels of an organization
Business acumen & industry awareness
Business writing skills
Undergraduate business degree, preferably Accounting/Finance stream
Minimum 10 years’ experience within the financial services industry preferably with custodian, fund manager and/or large institutional broker.
