Oracle Cloud Architect, Automation & Productivity Engineering in MELBOURNE, Australia

Job Description

Technical

  • A subject matter expert with hands-on work experience with any one of the major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP) and/or Hybrid Cloud offerings (VMWare, Nutanix )

  • You will need to have a deep understanding of Distributed Systems, Cloud reference architecture(s), various deployment patterns (eg: network, compute, storage)

  • Experience working on Core Cloud services, microservices, containerization, solutions spanning multiple availability zones & regions. Hands-on experience in designing and architecting various cloud deployments & well versed in Open Source and Cloud native technologies

  • Software development, deployment and implementation lifecycle using Agile methodologies.

  • Experience in architecting and coding accelerators, tools and/or reusable assets that accelerates the adoption of the designed solutions/use cases

  • Experience in high end automation using (IaC), configuration and packaging the solution for various permutations of use cases.

  • Exposure to crafting technical strategies for Cloud migration, Cloud hosting, re-platforming, transformation + migration

  • Troubleshooting and Performance tuning complex hyperscale cloud implementations

  • Experience in SRE activities like assessing the system reliability and availability aspects for major cloud deployments. Coverage of multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud would be an advantage.

  • Any exposure to cross platform mobile app development/deployment is an added plus, but not essential.

  • Understand and translate business and technical requirements into effective solutions.

  • Identify area of opportunities for research and development in prototyping. This would includebeing in sync with the industry trends and adopting the best practices to provide the team with a competitive edge.

  • Proven Experience & hands-on development in one or more of the following technologies

  • Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages (C/C++, Java, Go, Python)

  • DevOps Tools (Jenkins/Github/Ansible/Puppet/Chef)

  • Cloud Orchestration Tools/Application Platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, Openshift, Tanzu)

  • Public/Private Cloud Infrastructure (OpenStack, OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • NoSQL Database (Casandra, MongoDB, Amazon DynamoDB, CouchDB, MemcacheDB, Redis)

  • Exposure to Cloud Messaging/Streaming Brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ

  • Observability frameworks/tools (ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk)

  • IaC and configuration frameworks/tools – Terraform, Ansible, Open Tofu

  • Good Knowledge of Linux system administration

  • Hands-on experience in analyzing workloads, debugging and tuning performance at system level

  • Exposure to FinOps, ITIL, ITSM frameworks and related tools is desirable

Functional

  • At least 12 – 17 years of IT, Cloud Computing experience preferably in Asia Pacific

  • Proven ability to engage and sustain long term relationships with CXO level customers and focus on the best possible Customer experience with Oracle

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and highly comfortable speaking across all levels of management and technical audiences

  • Experience implementing Cloud based solutions for any industry verticals (eg : Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, Retail, Telecom etc)

Responsibilities

Responsible for engaging with strategic and more complex customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers and at conferences and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new solutions, products, and processes. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. Acts as an acknowledged authority for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.
