AON Client Manager - Financial Specialties in Melbourne, Australia

  • Senior client relationship management role in the Financial Services Group department

  • Service a portfolio of clients through the delivery of Financial Lines Insurance solutions and consulting services

  • Full time permanent position based in Melbourne.

    Client Manager – Financial Institutions/Professions (FI &P)

    The FSG FI & P team is responsible for the broking strategy and placement of financial lines business across the financial institutions and professions clients. You will be working closely with the Client Directors and the FSG team to drive growth, manage client delivery and ongoing product development across this space.

    As a Client Manager, you will maintain Aon’s high service standards on this portfolio of financial institutions & professions accounts. The goal is to further advance Aon’s standing as the market-leader in the Professional & Financial Lines Insurance space.

    This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Aon Melbourne offices.

    What the day will look like

    You will be responsible for:

  • Managing key stakeholder relationships and enhancing the client experience

  • Attracting, retaining and growing clients; and designing appropriate servicing solutions

  • Working in conjunction with key stakeholders to contribute to the strategic direction of the Financial Institutions and Professions business

  • Working with our Client Service Support, Broking, Claims and the wider Aon Global network to deliver optimised outcomes for the client

  • Ensuring client and portfolio profitability is maintained

  • Mentoring and developing junior colleagues within the FI/Professions team

  • Maintaining strategic relationships with insurance carrier partners in all key markets and successfully negotiating appropriate risk transfer solutions based on individual client risk profile

  • Monitor and review of regulatory and case law developments and participation in the production of client advisory white papers and insurance market update papers

  • Participation in business development opportunities, including policy wording health-checks, technical and claims commentary in tenders and involvement in new business presentations

  • Participation in industry events to raise awareness of Aon’s brand and capabilities in the Financial Institutions space.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Demonstration of extensive experience within the Financial Lines Insurance market, with a distinct focus on risk identification and risk transfer for Financial Institutions/Professions clients

  • The experience and capability of managing a portfolio of clients with excellent project management skills and prioritisation skills.

  • Strong technical understanding of a broad range of Financial Lines Insurance products and risk solutions, including PI, D&O and Crime.

  • Excellent cross selling abilities

  • Exceptional and pro-active client relationship management capabilities, which includes attracting, retaining and growing clients

  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications preferred

  • A high level of understanding of client profitability.
