As a world leader in the Operations Technology (OT) field, AT DGM develops and supplies state-of-the-art energy management, optimization, and control software solutions to energy utility companies worldwide. The Role AspenTech DGM is hiring! We currently have an opening for a Solution Consultant. In this position you will oversee technical aspects of Business Development for our Digital Grid Management Products, with the mission of guiding customers to success by leveraging our solutions. If you're an Engineer who: Has a background in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related field Has 2+ years of business and technical sales support experience in utility grid automation software (SCADA, EMS, DMS, OMS systems), or experience working in utility operations, or engineering support in a pre-sales fashion Loves driving the outcome of Sales operations Cares about energy management and wants to understand its challenges to modern software technology Is passionate about learning Is even more passionate about educating others then read on - we'd like to know more about you! Job Description Impact business development by being the trusted technical advisor of the customer Learn about customer business needs and discuss appropriate solutions and project approaches Present product capabilities and address customer inquiries during AspenTech-led solution scoping workshops Work diligently on responding to RFPs (Request For Proposal) and RFIs (Request For Information) to qualify our offering for Utility bids Leverage inbound information to guide Account Managers on creating quotes Support the product Demo team during technical contracting workshops, and train to deliver demos yourself Create technical evaluations that contain suitable solutions for customers and clearly define expectations from the AspenTech project teams and the customers Occasionally travel to customer locations to support technical discussions (10% or less in initial years) Represent AspenTech values with impeccable courtesy, curiosity, and communication skills Manage assigned tasks with care, concern for timelines, and diligence Be decisive and innovative when resolving issues. Procedures are important, and so is improving them continuously What You'll Need What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant technical field Proficiency with communicating technical concepts and presenting to customers Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to make clear observations and conclusions based on customer interviews and data. Strong time / project management and organization skills Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic or international locations (less than 10%) Ability to remain flexible and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience working in the operations or engineering group of an electric utility Experience working with or deploying real-time control systems including SCADA solutions 1+ years of business and technical sales support experience Knowledge of computer architectures, databases, and operating systems Knowledge of IT systems and data center designs At AspenTech DGM we care about the preparation of our employees, so specific on-the-job training will be pro ided.
