What you'll be doing:

The Senior Benefit Administrator takes a lead role in benefit plan design and communications. Provides overall reporting, analysis, and administration for company-provided benefit programs, including reporting and recommendations to HR and senior leadership. **This is a HYBRID position that requires 2 days per week IN the office and can be based in one of the below locations: Milwaukee, WI Madison, WI Merrill, WI (preferred) Mechanicsburg, PA Please list your preferred work location as one of the four from the list above when applying.

On any given day, you'll:

  • Primary contact with benefit broker. Leads conversations to develop benefit strategy, reviews current and new benefit offerings, provides cultural background for benefit fit, and evaluates communications and materials created by broker for accuracy and appropriate tone.
  • Leads the annual open enrollment process, including designing and developing tools to assist employees in benefit selections, coordinating open enrollment activities (including presentations for insurance and 401(k) plans), developing communications and ensuring renewal changes are reflected in open enrollment materials.
  • Leads the benefits plan design processes and communications, and partners with Human Resources leadership to create and present recommendations to senior executives for approval.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in employee benefits. Manages and administers company provided employee benefit programs for active and retired employees.
  • Develops company cost data for recommendation of new plans and implements approved new plans through developed communication plans.
  • Creates benefit strategies to connect current benefits to future benefit changes and offerings.
  • Monitors, researches, and administers regulatory changes impacting company benefit plans and implement changes and communications necessary for compliance.
  • Partners in the development and implementation of new health and wellness initiatives in partnership with the business to build a culture of wellness, encouraging healthy behaviors to reduce health risk and optimize healthcare costs.
  • Coordinates and provides required information for benefit audits, financial audits, and government reporting as required by internal auditors, external auditors, and outside agencies. Fulfills all reporting requirements of all relevant government rules and regulations, including ERISA.
  • Serves as primary contact for vendor relations. Oversees billing, analyzes plan document language, and resolves all issues related to benefit programs. Drafts benefit proposals to coincide with changing environment, monitors benefit expenses, and develops operational relationships with benefit carriers.
  • Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, etc. Analyzes results of market surveys and employee utilization of current benefits to develop specific recommendations for review by management.
  • Consults with employees, managers, and vendors to ensure that benefit-related issues are resolved timely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Supports the development of annual corporate and department goals and objectives and assist in eveloping the supporting budget.

Here's what we expect

**This is a HYBRID position that requires 2 days per week IN the office and can be based in one of the below locations: Milwaukee, WI Madison, WI Merrill, WI (preferred) Mechanicsburg, PA Please list your preferred work location as one of the four from the list above when applying. * Typically requires at least seven years of human resources experience, including at least five years of experience in benefit analysis and administration. * Bachelor's degree in human resources preferred, however, will consider degrees in such areas as business administration, organizational psychology, or organizational communications. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement. * Human resources and/or benefit certification is preferred. Necessary knowledge and abilities:

  • Significant knowledge of benefit administration and benefit structure.
  • Ability to work through vendor negotiation and resolution.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and make recommendations regarding benefit options.
  • Strong project management abilities and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, focus on accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • An above average knowledge of automation support tools used in the human resources field.
  • Ability to present information and explain complicated topics to large groups of people.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Exceptional organizational and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Exact compensation will vary based on consideration of a variety of factors including education, skills, experience, and location.

Minimum Compensation

USD $87,200.00/Yr.

Maximum Compensation

USD $130,900.00/Yr.
