Ministry Support (Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries) Clinical Team Leader (Family Life Services) in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania

Category/Shift/Hours per 2 week pay period:  Full-Time / Varied Shift / 75 hours per pay period

Diakon Family Life Services offers a range of counseling and behavioral health services to children, teens, families and adult individuals. Services are provided through counseling centers in Mechanicsburg, New Bloomfield, Lewisburg, Montoursville and Williamsport as well as within several public-school buildings. Specialized programs include family-based mental health services, provided in the community and in-home, addictions counseling, trauma-focused therapy and SPIN, a service designed to assist children and youths who have problematic sexual behaviors.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a professional and supportive relationship with clients, as well as providing specialized therapeutic interventions.  
  • Responsible for providing clinical and supportive guidance to therapeutic staff.
  • Collaborates with program supervisor to ensure that the program is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Provides individual, couple, family and group therapy sessions.
  • Childline & DHS FBI clearance results are required prior to beginning employment.

     

Education/Training: A graduate degree with at least nine (9) credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, education, counseling, or related field from an accredited college or university required.

NOTE: A Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience and/or PA certification will be considered for the Drug and Alcohol program.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' post graduate experience in related positions normally required.

 

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of post graduate experience in the provision of mental health direct services required. For SPIN and Family Based, direct experience must include children, youth, or young adults. Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum required. LCSW, LMFT, or LPC preferred. A minimum of three (3) years' post graduate experience in related positions preferred.

 

ADA: Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
