Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to support one of our clients in Mebane, NC. This particular plant houses up to 600 people and makes ETO Switchgear(Medium Voltage) power equipment for customer orders. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for the preparation and submittal of customer and manufacturing drawing packages and bills of material based on customer specifications for electrical equipment and controls. You will work with other engineers, project managers, manufacturing, and customers within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts, & resolve issues. Some other job responsibilities are below:

 Review orders and interpret customer and sales specifications and translate into instructions for manufacture.

 Creates Class I and Class II drawings, Single & Three Line, Schematic Diagrams and customer approval documents as needed.

 Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.

 Configure and manage BOMs, technical specifications sheets and engineering drawings. Suggest design optimization concepts to increase order margin.

 Respond to factory floor requests with a high sense of urgency by meeting with production team on factory floor, driving technical solutions, generating updated drawings and/or bill of materials, etc.

 Provide technical support across the whole order lifespan (quoting, engineering/design, manufacturing, testing and post shipment stages) as required.

Skills and Requirements

4 or more years of experience with electrical distribution equipment

o Familiarity with single & three line diagrams as well as electrical schematics

 Experience working on an ETO(Engineer to Order) Projects

 Experience with software design tools such as E-plan

 Experience with SAP

 Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment null
